Angelsfx Prosthetics
As a professionally trained hair and makeup artist with 5 years of experience within the makeup industry, I am incredibly dedicated to my craft. During my training and education I have undertaken work experience within the prosthetics sector; where I learnt valuable skills such as airbrushing, working on set as part of a crew and continuity with makeup for film and TV. I have studied Anatomy and Physiology in detail to assist my skills as my specialism within the prosthetic sector is medical realism.
My Story
Ever since a young age I have been fascinated by makeup and its transformational aspects. This of course started out by me stealing my mum's makeup to later having a little collection of my own. I've always been an artsy child so I started experimenting with makeup and it soon became one of my ever growing hobbies, it was almost like an escape. When Halloween would come around I would watch YouTube tutorials and use latex and toilet paper to create wounds and sliced throats for Halloween just at the age of 13. This soon became something I wanted to do for a living. It being quite a niche career I didn't know where to start and coming from a small town everyone laughed at me and didn't believe I could get into doing something so "abnormal". That almost gave me a kick of confidence, finding the University College Birmingham Level 2 course in Hair and Media makeup; I had to beg my parents to let move out at the age of 16 to a big city all by myself to start pursuing my dreams of being a makeup artist for TV and film. University College Birmingham, had given me all the support and love I could ever have wished for to build my skills from practically nothing.

Where am I now? I progressed from Level 2 in Hair and media makeup to Level 3 in Theatrical and special effects Hair and media Makeup giving me everything I needed to do my BA in Specialist Hair and Media Makeup at UCB which I am currently a Level 6 student in and progressing better than I had wished. Within my second and third year of learning I had thrown myself into work experience and networked with Birmingham City University Film students helping them out on their Final Major Project Films and any other short films they shoot as a special effects and prosthetic makeup artist. These opportunities have given me so many new valuable skills and a lot more understanding of the film industry. After working on some short films, my love for prosthetic makeup has grown to an unbelievable amount, I cannot wait to see what my hard work gets me in the future.
